About Jana Phillips

A native Texan, Jana Laird Phillips has lived in Dallas, Washington DC and has now called Houston home for over 24 years. She has a BBA from Baylor University with a double major in Marketing and Journalism. After graduating, she began her career writing in the energy industry, publishing numerous articles in trade journals. When Jana made Houston her permanent home, she instantly loved the welcoming community that gives the large city its small-town feel. The wonderful businesses, events, arts and charities of Houston inspired Jana to launch Houston Hip & Haute, a lifestyle blog on all things Houston where she remains both the founder and publisher. Jana is proud to be involved with organizations such as the Junior League of Houston, American Red Cross and American Heart Association.
